AZ Senate Committee Passes Bill to Bar Enforcement Of Federal Gun Control

On February 18, an Arizona Senate committee passed Senate Bill 1330 to bar enforcement of any new federal gun control within the state.

Sponsored by Senator Kelli Ward (R-Dist. 5), SB1330 prohibits “state agencies and employees from enforcing – or even assisting in the enforcement of – any new ‘federal act, law, order, rule or regulation.'”
According to the Tenth Amendment Center, the language of SB1330 “is in harmony with recently amended Article 2, Section 3 of the Arizona Constitution… which voters approved… to enshrine a process to refuse state cooperation with unconstitutional federal acts.”
On April 17, Breitbart News reported that Kansas Governor Sam Brownback (R) signed into law a bill to nullify future gun control laws in his state, and on May 24, 2014, Idaho Governor Butch Otter (R) signed into law a bill to do the same.
On February 9, Breitbart News reported that the Montana House passed legislation to prohibit the enforcement of new federal gun control in their state, and that measure is now with the Montana Senate.
SB1330 now goes to the Rules Committee in the Arizona Senate.
