INTEGRITY IN CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP FROM ERASMUS OF AMERICA - JULY 18, 2013 4:10 PM

INTEGRITY IN CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP FROM ERASMUS OF AMERICA - JULY 18, 2013

James Madison, "Father of the U.S. Constitution,"  June 20, 1785 wrote, "Religion (is) the basis and Foundation of Government."

"It is not the talking but the walking and working person that is the true Christian." - author unknown

George Mason (1725-1792) - "Father of the Bill of Rights" - stated before the General Court of Virginia: "The laws of nature are the laws of God, whose authority can be superseded by no power on earth."

I once got at Williamsburg, VA a copy of "A Treatise On Natural Law" by Professor George Tucker of the University of Virginia in 1846. The Tucker family wrote the main legal references for America up through that time. He showed that the American Revolution was founded upon the concept of "Natural Law" and so also the writings of the state constitutions and the writing of the U.S. Constitution and U.S. Bill of Rights. I found his legal textbook interesting as he wrote parallel teachings on natural law which were taught by early Christianity much earlier and so well stated by the golden orator of the Eastern half of Christianity John Chrysostom who died in 407 and was considered the archchampion of first Apostolic Christianity in the Roman Empire back then. The American Revolution was founded upon the early Apostolic Christian teachings on "natural law" taught by original Christianity on through the time of John Chrysostom and afterwards. To found America upon the legal teachings of law as related to government taught by early Apostolic Christianity and have Wash., D.C. under Obama today trying to wipe out Christianity in America today makes apparent that Obama does not believe in the founding principles of America in 1776 and afterwards. To sum up the first legal teachings of the American Revolution though they liked to refer to this in terms of "natural law," no laws in America are valid nor can be valid in America which are contrary to the laws of God as contained in and taught by authority of the Christian Bible. How far America has strayed from its founding legal principles of the Founding Fathers of America in 1776!
Now on to other powerful subjects in Christianity and which too many scholars try to play politics with rather than teach what early Apostolic Christianity taught. That is why I wrote the book "The Early Roots Of Apostolic Christianity" by Erasmus of America (my pen name) as I was tired of misleading and sometimes dishonest teachings among others who claim themselves the ultimate authority on true Christianity as taught by first Christianity on earth. My book is offered on my website at www.fastboomamericaneconomy.com  both in pdf format which has proved quite popular at this stage and also in regular paper edition but at a higher price. I did not know how the public would react to seriously honest Christian scholarship picking no sides but only the truth on major issues in Christianity as matched against what first Early Apostolic Christianity taught basically from the time of Jesus and the Apostles up to around 400 A.D. We have the major writings of first Christianity survive the fall of the Roman Empire so have heavy documentation what first Christianity taught on earth from the successors to Jesus and the Apostles. I have been intrigued by the comments coming back from the people reading this book I wrote. No criticisms, only praises for it. I got comments back like "Wow!" "Awesome!" Reading it and can't stop reading it. Powerful. A holy book all Christians should read. And a number of other comments from Christians who read it and were stunned by it as I clearly show what early Christianity taught on issues of Christianity today. Apparently both Protestants and Catholics have taken a strong liking to it. For some reason I scared the daylights out of the Satanists in America who savagely fought to try and block this book from being written, released, etc. I have the distinction of having the only Christian book apparently in American history the Satanists in America savagely fought to try and stop it from being written, published, and then released nationally. Their instincts told them to fear greatly this book if it got out successfully!
I am not picking on sides. Every side has some form of weakness somewhere in their scholarship if you look for it. They can also have very strong fields in scholarship. Respect what is strong. What is weak replace with strong, sound scholarship. The goal is end up with the truths that Jesus Christ wants us to have regardless of side of debate. In bringing forth scientific proofs and historical discoveries showing that the Book of Genesis can be literally read and judged a reliable book to read, I think some of the Protestant scholars have done a more credible presentation than maybe on the Catholic side. But also the Protestant scholars have some bad weaknesses that can be exposed with sound scholarship from those not accepting their position on some issue.
Many Protestant scholars hold to the position that "Once Saved, Always Saved!" It is a nice sounding doctrine, but early Christianity did not buy this position. It was judged if you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior for your life, it was very hard to ever lose your salvation if you were a serious Christian, but not impossible. If you walked away from Jesus, you could forfeit your salvation by abandoning Jesus. Jesus would not abandon you, but you with free will could abandon Jesus if you wanted to. However, the real problem with the always saved position where it is impossible to ever lose your salvation and you claiming the Bible proves this position the real position of Christianity, let us list the Bible verses showing the teachings of Jesus contradicting this position.
     Mt. 7-21-23; 10:22.28,33: 24:12-13; Mk. 13:22; LK. 8:13; Jn. 12:47-48; 15:6; 15:6; Acts 13:43, 46; 20:29-30; Rom. 2:6; 11:20-22; 1 Cor. 4:5; 1o-11-12; 15:1-2; 2 Cor. 5:20-6:2; 11:3; 12:21-13:5; Eph. 5:5-6;Col. 1:21-23; I Thess 4:1-8; 2 Thess. 2:13-15; etc. This is about one-third of the available list of Bible verses contracting this once saved, always saved position.
One of the Protestant denominations wrote that the Roman Catholic Church invented "the pagan practice of making the sign of the cross" during the Middle Ages. Bad scholarship. Tertullian around 200 A.D. wrote about the "ancient practice" of making the sign of the cross among Christians. Probably like a Masonic sign, Christians could identify fellow Christians among the pagans when it was potential death in the Roman Empire to be caught as being a Christian.
I admit that the founded Church of Jesus Christ was given authority in the Bible by Jesus Christ to "bind and to loose sins" based upon certain moral standards being met by the sinner. But to bind or loose sins for the sake of money instead of the sinner repenting of his sins was not the way Jesus intended for church officials to practice as the grounds for either binding or else loosing sins of a sinner. Martin Luther did correctly expose a scandal where the Roman Catholic Church by policy, not by doctrines taught, did a practice not authorized by Jesus Christ in the way they did it.
In early Christianity, how the bishops of Christianity were created is not practiced by the Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox Catholic, nor Protestants today. An original bishop for one of the mother church in the big cities was first round appointed by  one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ to his position but as soon as possible, the bishops were elected to office by their own churches inside the mother church. Then two or three bishops would come from elsewhere, cross examine the candidate for bishop to confirm that he stood for orthodox Apostolic Christianity. Then ask the laity and church pastors within this mother church if this was the man they wanted for their bishop (overseer). They would say yes and then the visiting bishops would anoint him bishop for the mother church in the city. This election of a bishop was to place in office a man respected for his holiness, knowledge of the Scriptures and related teachings of Christianity taught in early Christian traditions left them by the Apostles of Jesus Christ, and would be a good leader as head of the local mother church which had just held its election for a new bishop. The Bishop of Rome was elected as I recall for around 1,000  years by the local population of Rome to become Bishop of Rome which also later included the title "Pope" meaning Papa to other churches as well across the Roman Empire. I saw a few early Christian writings referring to this position as "President" of the councils of bishops which governed formal Christianity across the Roman Empire in the first few centuries of Christianity. He was able to assert a degree of higher authority when speaking on behalf of ancient teachings and traditions held by early Apostolic Christianity or else speaking the official ruled positions of general councils of bishops in Christianity.
I having studied ancient Christian writings and general history in great depth came to the conclusion that the Apostle Peter was first head of the Eastern half of Christianity which is the Middle East today and later did go to Rome and became head of the Roman Church and later died as a martyr for Christ while in Rome. I consider both the Eastern half of Christianity and the Western half of Christianity to both have been basically founded as units of early Apostolic Christianity by the Apostle Peter and so do not recognize that the Eastern half of Christianity had the authority to excommunicate the Western half of Christianity or the Western half of Christianity had the authority to excommunicate the Eastern half of Christianity. I see East and West need to meet in common council, iron out differences over what amount to a few points of minor disagreement between themselves and reunify the two branches of Christianity first headed by the Apostle Peter. My theoretical question is, "Can Peter of the East excommunicate the Peter of the West or the Peter of the West excommunicate the Peter of the East?" I think not and as Jesus intended for there to be one united Church founded by Him, not two, and let eventual unity be achieved by two divided sections of original Christianity. When they work out the differences which are few between themselves, they do what Jesus would logically want as Jesus founded one Church, not two, not 20,000 different versions of Christianity, etc.
Now I am doing some hidden maneuvering when I appear so reasonable with them. I am willing to be a branch of a reunited Catholic Church as it was called among other names. But I want a total return to early Apostolic Christianity in our branch. We will have elected bishops by the laity and church pastors also called priests, elders, etc. as early Christianity called them including presidents of the local assemblies meaning local churches. We allow married pastors or priests the same as early Christianity did. What early Apostolic Christianity accepted as its official positions as confirmed by historical records, etc., that is our position also. Also, as Martin Luther said he wanted to reform back to first Apostolic Christianity again, we being what he claimed he wanted to reform back to, Protestant churches and pastors may join us who want to and we will be the reformed totally Apostolic Christian branch of Christianity for our time and age. To bring true unity back to serious Christians of all sides, we will have one or more councils where capable scholars representing all sides can debate issues, show their positions, and we will accept as our positions what is proven to have been an official part of first Apostolic Christianity. All sides may get a bit of an education as all sides realize that there is more to early Apostolic Christianity than churches realize today.
Let me present two positions that I anticipate will be adopted by this council committed to be totally honest before Jesus Christ in reestablishing the total Apostolic Christian Church Jesus founded on earth for all Christians. Good intentions in scholarship are good, but our scholarship should be quite sound in facts and logic also. The 10 Commandments tells us not to make any graven images referring to religious images such as angels, etc. But the Temple of Solomon which was a marvel to the ancient world it was built in, was built by the specifications approved of by God. It had images of angels in it, beautiful artwork in it, and was a beautiful place of worship to enter into. God approved this. Hidden meaning is that images made to worship in place of God are forbidden by the intent of the 10 Commandments. But images of angels and other religious symbols whether in statue or else other form of artwork are not forbidden when used to worship God such as in a beautiful worship center like the Temple of Solomon. So we have to look at the intent of some religious laws to understand their correct meaning and position on issues. Wash., D.C. does not care about the intent of law when claiming obedience to the U.S. Constitution and U.S. Bill of Rights. Their lack of legal integrity means they can create one million different interpretations of those laws they want to change by legal double-talk and con in Wash., D.C. As Napoleon once cleverly commented, "To interpret the law is to corrupt the law." In other words, obey the intent of the law you are claiming to obey.
As I am planning to build the largest and most beautiful Gothic cathedral seen in human history at my huge Camelot location, we will build it with the intent to worship God in a beautiful place of worship, not to worship false gods of other religions. We will have statues and artwork the same as the Temple of Solomon did, but to honor our Jesus Christ who founded Christianity as the New Covenant available to all of mankind if they will accept God into their lives.
And we will have to have the moral guts to be honest in what we find in the ancient Christian records left us from the fall of the Roman Empire. I was raised a Protestant but had a Roman Catholic convert mother and understand both sides well.
St. Augustine in Sermons 159:1 (411 A.D.) wrote: "There is an ecclesiastical discipline, as the faithful know, where the names of the martyrs are read aloud at that place  at the altar of God, where prayer is not offered for them. Prayer, however, is offered for other dead who are remembered. It is wrong to pray for a martyr, to whose prayers we ought ourselves be commended." Augustine affirms the Church's practice of praying for the dead at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Augustine also affirms the Church's belief of praying to the saints departed from this life meaning the martyrs. Explosive is it not in implications that early Christianity prayed for the dead and asked the saints among them to pray for us the living on earth?! I did not read it until I finished my own book "The Early Roots Of Apostolic Christianity" by Erasmus of America (my pen name). I had been critical of the Roman Catholic Church for years  that they taught a doctrine called Purgatory and did not give me quotes from early Christianity nor sections from the Bible that would back up such a teaching of theirs. I finally read a book "The Biblical Basis For Purgatory" by John Salza, www.saintbenedictpress.com where he mass quoted on early Christian writings on the teaching of purification after this life for Christians who did not seriously repent of their sins and wrongs in this life and left it up to Jesus how He would accept them once they died from this earth. They never mentioned the name Purgatory as that apparently was a name some scholar assigned to this early teaching from Apostolic Christianity, but they matched their teaching of a place of temporal punishment and purification with certain teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible which are mentioned in detail in this book. I like to have two sides of an issue represented in any religious debate and finally one author did a good job of representing the real original Catholic teaching on what happens to Christians who continue to badly sin after becoming Christians and try to turn Christianity into a license to commit sins on earth and try to get away with it in the hereafter. Christian scholars can debate on this issue once this great council of Christian scholars is convened and let them rule what they judge early Apostolic Christianity really taught on this subject many will hope is not reality where we have to answer for unrepented sins after this life is over.
I am out to restore integrity to Christian scholarship where it has been lost in modern Christianity of today. Any side that intends to win with public issues that are very explosive in implications needs to use sound examples and sound logic the public can understand and agree with. With first reaction coming in so strongly backing my book from those who have read it both Protestant and Catholic, my public audience who has read this indicates they think you should read this and see my proofs what early Christianity taught as the real historical Apostolic Christianity as taught by Christ and His Apostles as taught by their trained successors who were the first Christian teachers and leaders after them in the ancient Roman Empire.
For those who want to learn what early Apostolic Christianity really taught on key Christian issues of today, look up my book at my website of www.fastboomasmericaneconomy.com  It comes in the PDF format of 242 pages including beautiful religious paintings reproduced inside it for $25.00. Or a paper printed version of it for more. We sell it both ways. When the Christians show me that they are strong enough to seriously stand up for Christianity all the way, then my hand might be cleared to release 25 teachings of the Bible to boom the economy of a nation based upon Bible teachings already working great when used in society. And with passage of the Omni Law, I will at last be free to show how Jesus Money really works as Jesus taught in the New Testament and has 4 times been the most successful and powerful monetary system ever used in human history. If there are any stalls in the RV of foreign currencies which many Americans want to happen, pass the Omni Law and we will have the RV right away along with extra benefits to it not available with the current RV reported to occur maybe any time soon. I was trained under six of the most brilliant economists of America and Europe, and with the Omni Law passed, we could turn the RV of foreign currencies into step one to later set up the Jesus Money system for America and then the world if they want to follow the American example in money.
By the way with the genetically altered trees that Obama is backing by federal policy for America, it has the potential of ending all life in America if it goes too far. Too many people think that backing evil leaders will bring good to your nation. Incorrect! Back good leaders if you want good for your nation, not evil!
Share this report with others to awaken America as a nation and also the rest of the world.

Like any other movement that has the potential to win a nation or the world itself, finances give us the muscle to win America and abroad. And we are growing, but not yet time to tell some positive things coming up! The enemies of Christianity are very unhappy with us because we are practical in nature and they know that means that we can potentially win America and even far more later on because we know how to win!
Yours For God And Country, Erasmus Of America (pen name for that Christian leader daring to plan to give Christianity victory in America and then abroad for one last potential golden age on earth for Christianity. Only when mankind morally collapses again after us giving Christianity one final great hour in history, then the Antichrist can lead all those who hate God and then they can all suffer defeat with the Antichrist when Jesus comes to smash him from the face of the earth.)

"...Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." --Matthew 18:18

This can be understood in two ways, both in harmony with the rest of Scripture: a)the work of the Gospel. As it is proclaimed, people accept it or reject it, 'binding' or 'loosening' by their responses to God's salvation. And, b)God's people are to 'bind' on earth what is 'bound' in Heaven, and, 'loose' on earth what is 'loosed' in Heaven...in other words, follow faithfully Heaven's will.

There is never a hint that any human being or group of human beings order God around and are given authority to command Him.

--"...the Apostle Peter was first head of the Eastern half of Christianity..."--

Even if true to some extent, what is the point? Defending the pretended legitimacy of the Papal See? God's Word says that James led the Apostolic church. No doubt Peter assisted by his own work. Acts 12:17, Acts 15:13, Acts 21:18

--"...as Jesus founded one Church, not two, not 20,000 different versions of Christianity, etc."

Correct. The one true church follows ALL the words of Christ, in their intended meaning, without the inventions and traditions of men "helping" God's Word.

--"We will have statues and artwork the same as the Temple of Solomon did..."--

This is going backward--in a negative way. The cherubim on the ark of the covenant were not seen by the worshippers. Neither were the embroidered angels on the drapery. Only certain priests went into the Temple to perform their duties.

The Second Commandment forbids the use of images as channels of worship. The few representations in the Temple, and how they were used, did not contradict the principle of this law.

"Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire. Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure..." --Deuteronomy 4:15,16

--"Augustine also affirms the Church's belief of praying to the saints departed from this life meaning the martyrs. Explosive is it not in implications that early Christianity prayed for the dead and asked the saints among them to pray for us the living on earth?!"--

This is an obvious example of the paganistic corruption which quickly invaded Apostolic Christianity soon after Christ left. True apostolic Christianity believed no such thing. They knew very well that the dead are dead--not alive, at all, anywhere. Paul, for one, is exquisitely clear on this point.

"Purgatory" is a doctrine of devils. There is no Biblical basis for it. It is, however, a natural perversion of truth which follows the false belief in the natural immortality of the soul.

If we want true Apostolic Christianity all we have to do is read our Bibles.

By the way, the Apostles kept the true seventh-day Sabbath, as well. It was given to humanity before Jew or Gentile and honored with a central place in the great Divine Moral Law of Love.

Do we want real Apostolic Christianity? Or, a return to the genesis of the great apostasy which took place in the early centuries of Christian history?
